I was struck by the magnitude of the silence.

I was struck by the magnitude of the silence. The air seemed charged with stillness.

Even now, after nightfall, a deafening silence has descended.

The woods turned black as pitch. I once feared the dark, and perhaps that fear hasn’t quite left me.
